The final day of the first week is upon me, and all I can think about is that I ran out of soda. Strange how an addiction to a caffeinated beverage can thwart your mental prowess. Thus far, my students make this semester seem like great fun. It’s going to be a great experience, but then again, every semester I am privileged to teach is a great experience.
This weekend will prove busy, as I plan to work out some novel implications and refocus my efforts for both the old and new novels I’m preparing. My sleep schedule is slowly returning to a days-oriented one, although I do wake extremely early.
Novel: still at 5 pages, and my main characters are hovering in the background, waiting for my mind to calm down and clear up.
Semester: three course websites to update, and email to filter for questions
Home: dishes and recycling…going to be a hoot, I will “Agatha Christie” them ASAP.
Videogaming: always willing to defuse a tense situation, but you know, I really miss “Duck Hunt” from the original Nintendo
I know this caffeine addiction of which you speak. I’ve been considering purchasing 2 espresso machines: one for home and one for my office.

That sounds reasonable. I would probably need just a single cup machine, as I usually drink a great amount of iced tea. I would like to get in the habit of drinking brewed tea more frequently, not really a coffee drinker. Soda is definitely my one true vice.
