Artist: Pierre Auguste Renoir (1841-1919)
I love Renoir because he painted life, moments, light, and emotion. My favorite work of his is called Seascape, but I’ve always thought it was called The Wave. When you read up on his biography, it seems he lived a very full life. When he was diagnosed with R.A. [rheumatoid arthritis], he kept painting…securing brushes to his hands and using a different form of canvas. From this, I can only think that painting, like writing and other arts, is a passion that must be answered.
